Year 6 spent an afternoon last week learning all about internet searches. We started off by thinking about who we ask if we lose something – who would be the best person to help us and what kind of information would we need – and then moved on to look at how this is similar to an internet search. In order to understand how internet search engines rank their results, we carried out our own spider search for items in the classroom and then ranked the locations according to different criteria. It really made the topic clearer for us and we found so many lost pencils!
