Virtual Whole School Assembly - on Judaism
This Monday (28th June 2021), the school were treated to a whole school 'virtual' Assembly with Rabbi Solomons. The Rabbi contacted everyone from his home in Reading via 'Zoom'. His Assembly was linked to this Term's value, specifically Mutual Respect & Tolerance. In his Assembly he told a Jewish story to us, which had a very important moral linked to it. It was that if you make a mistake and treat someone badly, showing them no respect, that you should try to do the right thing and make it better and say sorry to that person as soon as you realise you did something wrong. You shouldn't leave it too long and then try to say sorry, because then it may be too late. The moral of the story was also about treating everyone with respect in the first place, which is the right thing to do. It was a good lesson and I am sure this reminded the children to do the right thing and say sorry when they should. Hopefully, next year Rabbi Solomons can come back and do a live Assembly in the hall. Here is a photo of the Rabbi, doing face to face workshops a couple of weeks ago - Covid securely. |
