Car Park: Spring 2104
Following concerns which have been raised regarding safety in our car park, our Travel Ambassadors along with Mrs Storey, Mrs Surch, Mrs Scutt and Jane Deeley from Swindon's Road Safety Team will be carrying out a number of surveys to monitor parking in our car park. Please remember that all vehicles should be parked in designated bays only. The disabled bay is for registered card holder passengers only, the drop off area is for quick drop offs only and the Coach drop off area is solely for the use of buses and coaches. We appreciate your cooperation.
Car ParkCar Park survey: March 14
There were 28 vehicles parked incorrectly, including double parking, parking on pedestrain crosses, parking in the disabled, car and bus/coach drop off bays.
We will conduct more surveys this term and we are hoping the number will go down.
NEW Car Park survey: April 14
We have now carried out a number of car park surveys, accompanied by Mrs Surch, Mrs Scutt and Mrs Clarke as well as members of Carillion. The next set of 'Red Parking' results are as follows:
36 incidents
17 incidents
25 incidents
Whilst less people are now parking in the discabled bays, we are still finsing many cars double parked, straddling pedestrian crossings and in drop off bays. We understand that the car park is very busy but on every occasion, there have been empty parking spaces still available. We will continue to survey the car park to monitor the situation. We appreciate your continued cooperation as the safety of our children is paramount.
Big PedalBig Pedal March 2014
Well done Red Oaks: Our school completed 2152 journeys by bike or scooter between 3-14 March, including 1370 by you. That means 28% of us biked or scooted, fab! Overall, we came 161 across the UK, 17th across the Southwest of England and 6th across Swindon. Keep cycling, scooting and walking to school!
