March 21: Science Week - wb 8th March
All the children have settled back into school brilliantly this week and they have had a fun, but busy time taking part in Science week 'Challenges'! In Nursery our Challenge was to construct 'Moon Buggys' with working wheels. The children used 'Mobilo' and 'Sticklebricks' to make individual models, plus with support each group of children helped to design 'Moon Buggys' using boxes, bottles, wooden dowels and bottle tops etc.
After the 'Moon Buggys' were made we tested them to see how far they could travel down the ramp and on to the floor. Then we tried other materials on the ramp (bubble wrap & fabric) to see if this would slow the vehicles or speed them up. Then we had a Team meeting to chat to the Nursery Teacher and children at Orchid Vale school, to find out about their Science week activities. What a busy week!
