Pupil Voice: Helping Hands/ School Council

Meet your Helping Hands communications team 2019/20
What is new?
This term your teachers will be setting aside some time for you all to try the class meetings tool. Helping Hands will set a question for discussions in class and all children will have a chance to have their say and their voice heard.
We look forward to hearing your responses.

Charlotte
I think all helping hands should look who is the most kind and helpful and then the end of the week, they will get a prize.

Charlie T - Year 6
I think the should be a celebration where each helping hand in each class should look out for someone being kind, and get a prize.

Sept/Oct 19: Term 1 Values question - What career/job are you aspiring to do?
Come and add your aspirations to our whole school values wall and have your say. Look out for Helping Hands in the corridors and they can add your responses.

Oct 19: Lego Model Competition
Helping Hands are running a whole school competition as they would like to know what careers the children are aspiring to do when they are older. If they would like to take part, all they have to do is build a Lego model that shows their career aspirations. For example, if they aspire to be an author then they could make a Lego model of a book or if they aspire to be a swimmer they could make a model of a pool.
There will be a winner for the most creative model and then an overall winner for entries in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and then another in Key Stage 2. Please send a photo of finished models as their entry either emailed to the office or printed and handed in to your child’s class teacher. The photo must include a clear picture of the model, the child/children so we know it is made by them and a short description saying what it is and why they aspire to be that in the future.
The closing date for completed entries was Friday 8th November and the winners to be announced.

Oct 19: Mayor of Swindon
The Mayor of Swindon came to lead an assembly. He told us all about his struggles at school and how he didn’t see this as a barrier to success. The Helping Hands team asked him some brilliant questions and all got to shake his hand.
