Safeguarding: The Local Advisory Board is fully committed to maintaining the highest standards of Safeguarding. Members have read and signed the Keeping Children Safe in Education Policy and the signed documentation is with the Clerk to the board.

LAB Members play a vital role in promoting high standards of educational achievement. They share a common belief that children should receive the best possible standard of education in all areas of their development. This is in the interests of current and future pupils.
Members of the LAB include:
School staff
Parents of pupils
Members of the public from all walks of life.

LAB Members are committed to serving the best interests of the school. As unpaid voluntary public servants, they help to sustain their school’s identity and provide a link with the local community. An effective board is a source of enormous strength to the school.
Advisory board membership is the most important volunteering role in education.

Join our Local Advisory Board

Red Oaks Primary School and the Park Academies Trust welcomes enquires and applications for Local Advisory Board members (LAB) at Red Oaks and across our family of schools.

Local Advisory Boards support the Trustees by focusing on strategic monitoring to achieve continual improvement within children’s education at each individual school.

Becoming a Local Advisory Board member you will find the interaction between the board and school is extremely rewarding. The time commitment is probably not as intrusive as you imagine. If you are interested in supporting your local schools and community either at Red Oaks or within our schools in North or West Swindon and would like to know more about the role, please make contact with Helen Bissex, Governance Professional supporting the LAB at Red Oaks, at BissexH@theparkacademiestrust.com .

Steph will be happy to answer any of your questions and happy to discuss any general enquiries on an informal basis.
