Red Oaks School

Red Oaks Primary SchoolI am delighted to welcome you to Red Oaks Primary School.

This school opened in 2006 and is a two form entry school (3 forms of entry in 2012/13 only). We also have a nursery and two specialist provisions; one for children who are profoundly Deaf and use BSL to communicate and one for children with learning difficulties and disabilities.

We are a very large primary school (approx. 550) and we are part of a learning campus comprising of Isambard Secondary School, Brimble Hill Primary School (special), Uplands Secondary School (special) and ourselves.

Red Oaks has a vibrant learning environment and our staff aim to motivate, challenge and inspire children through a dynamic and balanced curriculum. We provide a wide variety of trips, visitors and workshops and we value outdoor learning opportunities.

Children have the option of a wide selection of extra- curricular activities and we also provide a breakfast and after school club should this be required. I believe firmly that values should be the cornerstone for learning. Children learn best in an ethos of praise encouragement and challenge. A strong home/school partnership will develop a child's confidence and security. Growing self- esteem allows our young people to give respect, take responsibility and demonstrate perseverance. I encourage Red Oaks' pupils to have a clear voice and to celebrate being citizens of a global community.

We value the input from parents and have an open door policy so please come and talk to me or any member of staff.
